ATTENTION! Recommendations for Hiking Trips

Normally, in an effort to escape the pressures of daily life, we look for a way to get away from it all. However, it must not always be this way.

Most accidents occur because of human error. Generally, while trying to show off, rebel or during fits of anger, we tend to overlook some safety measures, only remembering them when the threat has become a reality.

When we decide to break out of our routine, or once we think our camping trip has reached a safe conclusion, it is important to keep in mind some safety measures that will ensure our trips end in positive notes, in order to make them into good memories or, in case of accidents, quickly call for help.

Examples of these measures include:

  • Write down your schedule: every time you go hiking, tell someone where you are going. Never hike alone. Getting lost is not part of anyone’s adventure plans.
  • Make sure your mountain gear is in good condition: All gear and equipment you take must be in perfect condition.
  • Conserve your strength to ensure your return: You should not hurry when hiking. When necessary, admit you lack the necessary strength to continue. It is okay.
  • Make use of maps and books: If you are new at this, consult mountain guides.
  • Learn first aid: The knowledge can help you avoid accidents, and teach you how to act once one has occurred.

Make sure your cellphone is fully charged before starting your hike. As a bonus, we invite you to go to the Play Store or App Store and download Alpify, an app that, should you get lost or suffer an accident, will help you send an S.O.S. to the Rescue Team closest to you.
