Global warming’s Effect On Our Oceans Is The Equivalent Of 1,5 Atomic Bombs

In 2018, the oceans reached their peak temperature, caused mainly by the environmental and ecological crisis, industrialization and climate change.

Studies show that the current sea temperatures are the equivalent of detonating 1,5 atomic bombs per second for 150 years, something never seen before.

A study by five United Kingdom, Oxford University students published by the United States’ National Academy of Sciences pointed out that, should the seas temperatures continue to rise

The researchers conducted experiments on global warming, and the way it affects the seas all over the world, arriving to the conclusion that “the past 150 years’ brutal increase in greenhouse effect gases made the oceans grow warmer, the equivalent of detonating – starting in 1871 – 1,5 atomic bombs, like the ones used against Hiroshima and Nagasaki, per second.”

The research also pointed out that, currently, 90% of atmospheric emissions are absorbed by the seas, and that faced with the increase of extreme climate phenomena that affect all of earth’s ecosystems, the oceans suffer the most drastic consequences, which, in turn, affects all living creatures on the planet, including humans.

During the period between 1921 and 1946, as well as the years 1990 and 2015, Earths’ oceans absorbed so much heat that experts called for help to stop the growing concentrations of greenhouse effect gases from being absorbed by the seas.

Did you know that by 2017, the seas reached their peak temperature in recorded history?

Researchers point out that they absorb the heat on the atmosphere, product of global warming. It is time to change! #Let’sTakeCareOfOurPlanet

Likewise, a research conducted by Science magazine in 2018 revealed that “sea temperatures continue rising. This made 2018 the hottest for all of earth’s water sources.”

They also add that the temperatures reached their “maximum peaks, in an ever-growing increase.”
