IMPORTANT! [Nestor Chayelle]: Ecological Inventions to Face Global Warming

As we know the earth is presenting a terrible warming, it is estimated that if the temperature of the planet increases only 9 ºC, life as we know it, will end. So, there are people in the world who work to improve this.
  • Solar Energy Transformation into Biodiesel
Joule Biotechnologies is developing a technology that can revolutionize the renewable sector, specifically its biotechnology research, it focuses on the production of liquid fuel from solar energy and other chemicals.

[Nestor Chayelle]: Solar Energy Transformation into Biodiesel
It consists on the use of genetically modified organisms that can transform solar energy and carbon dioxide into base molecules for the creation of biodiesel. These organisms are floating in an aqueous solution and exposed to the rays of the sun by means of orientable platforms. It is like producing liquid fuel from the air. The microbes obtained in the laboratory consume the CO2 of the air and with the energy of sunlight can produce large amounts of ethanol, diesel, and other types of hydrocarbons.

Of course, the advantages of this process are enormous: it does not produce biomass, it does not need fertile soil, it does not need fresh water (it can be reused), it produces the fuel directly without the necessity of extraction or distillation, the result obtains fuel at competitive prices, highly efficient production, does not emit pollution, reduces CO2 levels in the air and, best of all, its raw material is inexhaustible.
  • Space Solar Energy
Installation of satellites with photovoltaic panels to send energy from space to Earth. The solar panels in orbit located at about 35,000 kilometers in height would transmit by means of microwaves or laser the energy obtained to a station in earth and later to distribute it by a network.

The main advantage is that there is sunlight practically 24 hours a day, without the obstacle of clouds or bad weather makes the installation much more productive, also being a clean source, inexhaustible, flexible and safe.

The US Space Agency (NASA) and Japan are already studying to install 1 km2 of solar panels in orbit, which would produce in a year more energy than all known oil reserves. The advance of new technologies has improved its possibilities.
